I adore the fans’ faces.

I’m so torn over this. Everton. Arsenal. Arteta. Ah!

I’m so torn over this. Everton. Arsenal. Arteta. Ah!

I did catch most of the 2nd half of the game this afternoon. I did watch it in b&w because I really did do something to our tv last night when I was playing mariokart. The worst part about this afternoon replay was that they did not even show the effing shootout. Pointless!

So this morning I woke up to this photo on my dashboard and not really knowing what the hell was going on it, so I tried my best to find the recorded Chelsea vs Everton match on my tv. I searched and searched, but I realized it wasn’t recorded. I did something with either the cords or the settings of our tv last night, so I figured it was my own fault. However, the game wasn’t set to record because it wasn’t a regular league match but an FA Cup match. Wah wah wah.

Still, Everton, YAH!!

Who's your favourite European football team? (sorry for asking twice, but I probably won't check forumspring to see your reply lol)

Hm, my favourite European football team. You must be from Europe since you spelled favourite with a u, are you?

Anyway, I haven’t “picked” a fave European team as of yet, but I do like some more than others all for emotional reasons or for reasons connected to memories and awesome people in my life.

In no particular order:

1. Everton

I saw Everton play against the Fire a few years ago in Chicago, and I feel like that gave me a sort of connection to them. I also have a female friend, who is an Everton supporter. I have more respect for her than I do most female soccer supporters. She knowledgeable about football and not afraid to speak up, so I suppose she influenced me a bit. I also became friends with someone that is from England and a huge Everton supporter the week they played in Chicago. Other reasons, Timmy Howard, Mikel Arteta, Marouane Fellaini. Everton is also a good team but they’re not an AMAZING team, so they have a little big of underdog in them but win enough games not to feel too defeated in supporting them. Is loving Umbro a totally non-legit reason to support them? :-/

2. Arsenal

A group of my good friends really love Arsenal, so I started watching them a few years ago. That’s one connection. Arsenal also plays the style of soccer that I grew up playing, so I can appreciate that as a spectator. Also, my boyfriend is a fan of Arsenal, so I am constantly watching them… (met him a couple of years after I started watching them with my friends).

3. Barca

I just recently figured out that I probably like Barca more than I ever imagined and that’s for the same reasons as above. A group of friends of mine really love them, so we saw them practice at Toyota Park, and I’ve seen them play a couple of times in Chicago.

my friends passion for certain teams, obviously, rubs off on me, but i have friends that are passionate about a lot of other teams that i don’t get excited over.

1. Getting my bangs trimmed, which turned into me getting my hair colored as well. I feel like a new lady with some minimal changes. YES!

2. Arsenal Victory! Everton Victory!

Donovan’s Army

After missing a vital penalty kick in the LA Galaxy MLS Cup loss, Landon Donovan now takes a major step in testing his game ahead of the World Cup and proving that he can cut it in the Premier League by starting his two and a half month loan to Everton. The following is the resumption of his email correspondence with his friends back home.

WHAT UP WHAT UP?!

Haven’t hit you boys up in a hot minute. Thought I’d give you a little update on my deezy.

I know you’re prolly wondering about the MLS Cup and ish, but it ain’t no biggie. People trying to say I blew it or whatever with that pk. Nah bro. Kids expect me just to roll one in down the pipe. Sorry bra, but this is Landon Donovan we’re talking about. Every true bro knows its not a G-O-L unless you rip top cheese upper 90 from the spotski. I don’t just pussy balls into the net. I snipe. Bro’s gotta go down in a flame of glory if they’re goin’ down. Sorry for not being sorry, Becksauce.

So after that loss I kinda just retreated to my beach cabana for a bit. Threw on some low-tempo Jack Johnson and just chayed out to the max. But what do you know? It’s time for your boy to take his show on the broad once again to show the Eurobroni’s how it’s done. Welcome to the American brodeo, UK.

Mad clubs had been scoping my steez since I’ve been ballin’ out this year, so Everton hit me with a phat loan deal so I could dangle across the pond before the World Cup. This prolly won’t be the typical jabroni set up I’m used to where politricks and propaganda keep the great hope of America on the sideline in favor of lesser talent and skill. Nah, I got my main broski Timmy Howard over here with me, so you can pretty much stop fibbin’ yourself and recognize that America is takin’ over the Prem. Gonna be shredding gnar on the reg like its my J-O-B. Sheer epicness.

First victim — Arsehole. Watch out Gallas. It’s called ripping it up America style…ever heard of it??!?

Speaking of style, take a look at your boy killin’ it upon arrival (btw, talk about being bronfused when they say I’m going to Everton and they take me to Liverpool. I did my bromework, and all I know is that those reds are my rivals, and I dunno why they’re keepin’ me in this city.) Black beanie, tweed blaze-coat, and a grey t just chillin’…

Killin’ it. Look out EPL. Landy’s on the loose.

Peace out. One love.
