What were we doing last weekend, you ask? Well, Smash was cheering on her FC Dallas boys at home in Dallas with her girls, and Julie and I were bundled up in Chicago trying to bear the cold weather and terrible soccer being played by Chicago Fire - at least the tifo by Section 8 Chicago was off the hook.

Losses & sadfaces. Hoping this weekend is better for our teams. MLS weekend #3 of 2013 is upon us - happy soccer watching.

Footy love, nikhak

Footy love all day long…

All day long…

Okay, seeing this just made me smile and made me a little more excited for tomorrow’s match.

I feel guilty that I’m not more excited for my Rex Manning Day (AKA - Chicago Fire home opener) tomorrow. This weather + that 4-0 loss against LA + I donno …

This is my jam. Why aren’t I more stoked?

HAPPY REX MANNING DAY! Otherwise known as, the Chicago Fire home opener.

Let’s go boys!

Footy love, nikhak

Thanks for sharing these, Section 8 Chicago and Pitch Invasion.

Happily watching @chicagofiremls on my lappy. #cf97

Soon Section 8 Chicago will be the most disliked group of supporters in MLS. I’m entertained by the tweets right now because i’m not at the draft. If I were there, I’d likely be embarrassed. For now, I’ll enjoy a few laughs.

Like I always say, Sparky is my 2nd favorite @chicagofire player. #cf97 #2008

Nevertheless, I’m still so proud of my team. We’ve improved so much since Frank became coach and I couldn’t be happier that we actually made the playoffs this year.

«< Couldn’t have said it better myself

Our men in red and an excellent umbrella tifo display from @section8chicago #cf97

Hack Attack + The Gargoyle. Met some really nice #cf97 players, and Dan must be up there as one on the kindest. @positivelyallie

The @FireAnniversary party was great. I’m always happy to spend time with @monika7 ❤ (Taken with Instagram)

“It’s a city that’s rich in soccer history and tradition,” Klopas said. “We’re trying to make sure (the players) know that history, of the club and soccer’s past in Chicago. It’s an important city, and we have to take a lot of steps to get there. Nobody’s going to relax or take their foot off the gas.”

“You want this team to represent, to be a mirror almost of the city of Chicago,” Klopas told Sporting News. “This is a city made up of a lot of immigrants, where people get a lot of new opportunities. They have a mentality that we’ll never give up, that we’ll work hard to the end.

Rolfe is unselfish. He likes to pass and move quickly, and he runs intelligently off the ball. He compensates for his slight build by flourishing in tight spaces. He requires almost no time or elbow room to release a shot. The University of Dayton product might have struggled to adapt in the far north of Denmark, but he has found ways to flourish on the field.
